MONTREAL OLYMPIC GAMES – ROWING SILVER MEDAL
US rower Joan Lind took the silver medal in the women’s single in the Montreal Olympics and showed how competitive US women rowers were, and in the process introduced the new Van Dusen hull shape and advanced composite construction to the world.
AFTER ROWING SUCCESS WE TRY OLYMPIC KAYAKING
In 1986 we designed and manufactured a new fleet of flatwater kayaks and canoes for the 1988 Olympic Games. Our first kayak designs, the Eagle and the Falcon, helped Greg Barton and Norman Bellingham win the first World Championship and Olympic gold medals in US paddling history.
Our kayaks and canoes have been raced by competitors from Argentina, Australia, Austria, Canada, China, the Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the USA. We are proud that our products help these athletes achieve victory on the race course. In the 1996 Olympics Van Dusen kayaks won over half of the medals awarded.
