Specifications and Construction

  • The Mohican K1, originally released in 2006, is designed to the USCA unlimited class specification and gives paddlers another option in marathon racing kayaks. Now available in standard and Texas Water Safari lay-up.

  • The Mohican has a self-bailing cockpit, like a surf ski, for self rescuing and safety in open water, and is typically fitted with a kick-up rudder.

  • The Mohican comes with tiller and pedal steering options. Bucket seat can be upgraded with a fixed or rotating ICF kayak seat.

  • Mohican base price is $6,300. Refer to the order form for pricing of various options.

Competition Models

The competition models use carbon fiber, foam, and foam core laminates with high-performance, heat-cured epoxy. Please inquire if you are interested in custom laminates.

Van Dusen K1 Kayaks included a lightweight carbon-fiber monocoque hull and solid deck, a molded carbon-fiber seat, and an under-stern rudder. The Mohawk K1 was designed to the ICF sprint kayak rules. No longer available.

Mail us one signed copy of the order form and contract (or scan and email the form). We will sign the form and return a copy to you. Print out the entire order form and contract. If they are altered in any manner, the contract is invalid.
